Dexter and ALKO are a description of style, not genuine brand.
The plates come in two different styles: ALKO and Dexter. It is important that all plates on your trailer match.
There are a few subtle differences between the two, including the shape and mounting of the shoes. Mostly notably though, is the hand brake lever. The Dexter style lever sits horizontally flush with the plate, while the ALKO style lever protrudes vertically away from the plate.
